INTAKE PROCEDURE:For children, only referrals from the State system are accepted; for potential foster parents, contact the main number for the schedule of information meetings; application process reviewed during informational meeting



DESCRIPTION:Recruits foster families for youth who come to the U.S. with no parent or guardian. Also, worth with the foster parents to provide ongoing support for each youth to help them adjust to life in the U.S., preparing them to be self-sufficient when they reach adulthood through language instruction, life skills training and education.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:None for the informational meetings

ELIGIBILITY:Open to foster parents at least 21 years of age who are either married for at least two years, single, divorced, or widowed; willing to participate in a criminal background check; able to attend training, and participate in a home study by a social worker
