INTAKE PROCEDURE:Visit the website to submit an application OR to request a navigator to help with the process. Any eligible household in Harris County can reapply online from Sept 8 - Sept 12.Applicants will be selected at random using a statistical method that ensures fairness.Catholic Charities will receive the names, then review all applications for eligibility, work with those applicants to get the proper documentation within a short time frame, then process payment for those that are approved by December 30.Applications will be chosen at random, not based on a first come-first served order. There is no guarantee that someone will receive assistance after submitting an application.




DESCRIPTION:Provides financial assistance for those who are affected by COVID-19. Households that are selected and approved will receive a one-time payments of 1,500 for emergency expenses. Funds may be used for any emergency expenses such as healthcare, rent or mortgage, utilities, food, internet, transportation, childcare, and other past due expenses. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:You will be asked to upload documents when you submit your application. However, only a valid form of any identification is mandatory to start the application process. If your application is selected, you can provide the other documents later. Acceptable proofs of identification:Current or recently expired Texas Identification card or Driver's license, Current or recently expired out-of-state issued ID or Driver's license, Current or expired U.S. passport. Non-expired U.S. Visa Card, Non-expired Work permit or Employment Authorization Card, Legal permanent resident card (Green card), Non-expired Current Office of Refugee Resettlement ID, Handgun license, Military ID, or Texas Election ID certificate

ELIGIBILITY:Open to Harris County Households; Applicants must be 18 years or older, or be an emancipated minor.- Households must demonstrate economic hardship incurred during the COVID-19 pandemic.- Household must have at least one member enrolled in a public assistance program, or total household income at or below 60% of the HUD Area Median Family Income.- One payment will be made per family unit. If housing is shared by more than one family unit, each family unit may apply.- As required by federal guidelines, at least one adult member of the household must be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, refugee, or other qualified noncitizen.
