Program Detail

Home Repair Application Program

DESCRIPTION:Provides online application to apply for assistance in repairing homes in the City of Houston and/or Harris County that were damaged by Hurricane Harvey. Repairs are limited to less than half of the property value of the home, in accordance with Harris County permitting standards. Exact available funding differs by household income and by partner organization.
Note: Applications can be made even if other funds have been received including from FEMA, and Insurance as long as there is documentation on how the funds were spent.

INTAKE PROCEDURE:Complete the online application at "Harvey Home connect": https://harveyhomeconnect.tfaforms.net/3
After the application is submitted, there are two more steps for eligibility: the Harvey Home Connect team will verify the submitted documents; a representative from a partner organization will contact the applicant to perform an assessment of construction needs on the home. Following these steps, the team will determine whether or not the home is eligible for repairs.

FEES:None
Note: if applicant does not qualify for free services, the agency can provide direction on accessing low-interest loans for the work to be done.
