Harvey Disaster Relief (GHCF)

DESCRIPTION:Provides temporary housing and utility assistance for families that must leave their home during repairs. It is necessary that families be approved by Red Cross for the home repairs in order to receive these services. For families that Red Cross does not approve for repairs, the agnecy will assist the applicant with locating other community resources. Agency may be able to provide furniture and appliance replacement for applicants.

INTAKE PROCEDURE:Call for appointment and leave a message. Calls will be returned within 24-48 hours. No walk-ins accepted. Agency will assist applicant in applying for Red Cross funds. If applicant does not get Red Cross approval for repairs, the agency will assist applicant in locating other resources that may be able to help.


DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:Valid photo ID, Proof of residence during Harvey and current residence if relocated, proof of income, Social Security Card, proof of damages by Harvey (, FEMA documentation, etc).

ELIGIBILITY:In need of job readiness training, career guidance, job placement assistance, interviewing skills, job retention counseling, or employment related supportive services and must have been a victim of Hurricane Harvey

HOURS:Mon - Thurs 10:00 am - 3:30 pm for appointments
